Tea Time with Nichole: There's a Tea for Everyone

Q: What’s your background in the tea industry?

A: Been drinking tea for years and have been blogging about tea for quite some time!

Q: What do you appreciate about tea?

A: I appreciate what tea does for you. It centers you, calms, you, brings a smile to your face, gives you a moment to take life in and enjoy. Tea is almost meant to be shared with others and becomes a great conversation piece. The flavors, the smells, the experience of brewing that perfect pot, there is so much beauty to be enjoyed, shared, and appreciated.

Q: What do you enjoy doing while drinking tea?

A: I adore watching a great scary movie or one of my favorite shows like Doctor Who or Firefly curled up on my couch enjoying a pot of tea with my hubby and kiddos. It doesn't get much better than that.

Q: What are some of your favorite tea brands/sellers?

A: That is a hard question. I have so many favorites! Not to be biased, but I do love my 52Teas. Yes, the owner started The SororiTea Sisters, but the attention to detail that 52Teas presents in every blend is second to none. I'm also a huge fan of A Quarter To Tea, Wild Leaf, Fraser tea, and Adagio Teas. I'm also a huge fan of Kippers Lil Tea Shop.

Q: How would you encourage someone to start drinking tea?

A: I always encourage people to start with a flavor that they like and not to get too worried about how to brew or getting all the right equipment off the bat. If you like citrus, find yourself a few different citrus teas and experiment. Experiment with water temperatures, with steeping times, with different ways to brew. That is what is so amazing about tea. There is a tea for every taste and desired experience out there. You just have to find that perfect blend. I also encourage people to find those mom and pop hand crafted and hand blenders who create those fresh marvelous tea blends or at least provide that amazing customer service that screams We love tea!

Q: What health benefits have you experienced from your tea routine?

A: What I find is that I don't feel as "heavy" after drinking a solid few sessions of say a green tea or herbal. Almost gives you that pick up you need. Pair that with a day of constant water drinking and I find that I'm feeling pretty good!

Q: Five years from now, what direction do you see the tea industry headed?

A: I would just love to see the attention continue to grow for tea. I've seen it more and more and have had more and more friends asking about tea. Does my heart good to see the tea industry continue to grow!
